UTLA Valley East interim election announcement

At the October 9, 2024, Valley East Area Meeting, the UTLA Elections Committee has announced that there is a vacancy for the Valley East NEA Board of Director position open in Valley East Area, that will be filled in a special election to be held at the Valley East Area Meeting on November 13.

Candidates may declare their intent to run after the Area Meeting on October 9 by completing the Declaration of Candidacy for Interim Valley East NEA Director Form digitally. Please review the recently updated UTLA Election Manual for additional information. Only nominations submitted online will be accepted. Candidates must have been a member in good standing for 24 months prior to October 9, 2024. The deadline for declarations is Friday, November 8, 2024, at 5:00 p.m.

Itinerant educators who work in Valley East and wish to vote must fill out an Itinerant Assignments Declaration Form. The special election will be held at the Valley East Area Meeting on November 13, after the candidates have given a brief presentation. The results will be verified and posted on this website.

This is a special election that only affects UTLA Valley East.
