Revised UTLA Election Manual September 2024
The UTLA Election Manual has been revised by the UTLA Board of Directors over the last year. This version — available at utlaelections.org/information/election-manual/ — will be used in any interim elections that occur until the Board decides on any other changes. The Board may modify this document until Declarations open for the 2025-2026 School Year and the next General Election cycle begins.
A number of the changes were adjustments to align with the revised version of the UTLA Constitution. Other changes more accurately describe current practices that have evolved with online voting. Clarifications were added to the challenge and arbitration process. The process is described in more detail so everyone can understand their role and responsibilities.
The Elections Committee is identified as a Special Function Committee in the UTLA Constitution. Special Function Committees are described and differentiated from Standing Committees in Article VII of the UTLA Constitution.
