Ready for 2026 UTLA election and congratulations to the uncontested Board of Directors candidates who won their seats

The UTLA internal elections are off and running. We have numerous candidates running for UTLA officer positions as well as UTLA Board of Directors seats. You can see all the candidates by visiting utlaelections.org/candidates/. As the election process moves forward you will be able to see candidate information and images, as well as links to their social media and candidate web resources there.

Some candidates were in uncontested seats and have won their Board elections. The Valley West Area candidates — Brian Simily, Carmen Esterman, Ivannia Nolasco, and Wendy Lucia Lozano — all won their director elections. L. Cynthia Matthews (South Area), Marcela Chagoya (East Area), Crystal Murray (Harbor Area), and Mark Ramos (North Area) all won their director seats for their areas.

The following candidates for special director seats also won in uncontested elections. Brenda Brown was elected the EEC Director, Francisco Martinez was elected Substitutes director, Kyoko Bristow was elected HHS director, Kevin Jordan was elected Adult Education director, and Deborah Schneider Solis was elected Special Education Director. Congratulations to all the elected leaders in the UTLA election.

Be sure UTLA has your current email as it will make voting easier. Itinerant and substitute teachers consider filling out the Itinerant form (now only on utla.net) to vote in the area director race where you work.
